First Impression

In a hurry and looking for the gist of things? Here is our review in short. Keep reading for the entire version.

The Cressi Tortuga 2.5mm is a good choice for a 2.5mm shorty for tropical warm water diving.

It looks good, is pretty comfortable to wear and the seams are great.

While I always recommend wearing a long-sleeved rash guard underneath any shorty, the Cressi Tortuga is a quality wetsuit on its own.

The first thing you’ll notice is the very affordable price of the Cressi Tortuga that’s below some of the offerings of competitors such as Aqualung or Mares.

Cressi makes high-quality dive equipment and this one is no exception.

What I did not like was that every suit seems to be on the smaller side and you need to be careful with the sizing.

If you are above 1.90m / 6.3ft tall like me, you should first take measurements and compare them with the actual dimensions of the suit instead of trusting the Cressi sizing chart.

The torso of the suit seems to be pretty short too and is the complete opposite of my Aqualung shorty which has an extra long one.

Like most Cressi suits such as the Cressi Morea or the Bahia, the Tortuga 3mm is rather stiff. That was not a problem for me when I wore it (although the one I tried was already worn quite a bit), but it might take one or two dives to break it in.

Conclusion

The Cressi Tortuga 2.5mm is a solid choice for a shorty wetsuit and the different versions for men and women give you enough flexibility to choose the size you need.
