THE book for every new or experienced diver

If you know someone who would like to try out scuba diving but is afraid to do so, or an experienced diver who had a bad experience, this is the book to get.

I wrote it with all the people in mind that I have taught to scuba dive and if you’re looking for something personal as a gift, check it out. 🙂

  • Anyone who is afraid of diving
  • Those interested in psychology

Tips for buying

  • Don’t get cheap chines copies

Headband or Bandana

Stay warm and protect your ears

Headbands and bandanas are great for two reasons. Firstly, they keep you warm and cozy, and secondly, they protect your ears from the wind. Super important after any dive!

  • Children

Tips for buying

  • I like the ones made of recycled fabric the most

Changing Towel

The convenient way to change at the beach

Changing towels can be put on like a sweater and make changing so much easier. Must have for convenience!

Best for

  • Beach goers
  • Scuba divers
  • Women like them more usually than men

Tips for buying

  • See if they come in unisex or men/women/children versions

Tank Banger

Not everyone likes to use tank bangers or other emergency tools like it. But they are undeniably very useful in case something does happen.

They come in different shapes and sizes, but all work in a similar way.

  • Scuba divers
  • Dive instructors & Dive Leaders

Tips for buying

Every dive needs their own, personal stamp to put into each others logbooks after a dive. It’s just such a fun and personal way to stay connected and express yourself.

It’s also a fun present for freshly certified Dive Leaders & dive instructors starting out their professional diving career

Best for

  • Any diver
  • Dive professionals

Tips for buying

  • Check whether they already have their own custom stamp

Best for

  • Scuba divers who dive at home
  • Great for traveling

Tips for buying

  • Drysuits often require special hangers

How to find the best gifts for scuba divers

In order to find the best scuba diving gifts, look for items that could be useful to a new or experienced diver. You can find fun accessories like mugs, shirts, beachwear, or electronics that are connected to scuba diving but are not scuba gear itself. Buying essential equipment pieces like BCD, regulator, or wetsuit is not recommended, as people usually have very specific needs and like to pick them out themselves. In this case, a voucher for a scuba diving store is a better idea.

In general, I suggest staying away from scuba gear, unless you really know what the person might need. As a dive buddy, you might have heard them mention something during a surface interval, so that might give you a hint of what they would enjoy.

I myself have gotten items for fellow divers which I found super convenient and hadn’t seen around much.

For example, diving eggs (dry cases) are super convenient but not many divers want to spend money on them. In return, I have received personalized equipment tags which I found super cool.

Basic dive equipment like BCD, a wetsuit, or a regulator is best left to the individual to buy. If you really want to buy scuba gear for someone, make sure you know their size and preferences.

Last but not least, everyone loves presents and therefore, the gesture is more important than the value of the item itself.

Conclusion

You should now have received enough inspiration for cool scuba diving gifts to find something your friends and family members will enjoy.

If you have some other cool ideas, share them in the comments. What have you gotten your dive buddy lately?
