Dive Leader course description

For more information on the Dive Leader course, read the description below.

Have you always dreamed of becoming a professional diver? To be the dive guide that others look up to and be respected for your skills underwater?

And most importantly, to take responsibility for your dive buddies and group and know you can safely lead them? Then you are a good fit to become a Dive Leader.

The course covers (among many others) the following topics:

  • Dive Leader internship (optional)
  • How to lead dives underwater
  • Dive group management
  • Legal regulations & laws
  • Working at a dive center
  • Skill training
  • Teaching scuba diving

Each course module will teach you more about diving and help you become a leader underwater and above. Let’s look at each module and what it covers.

Perfect your skills

If you want to be a leader, you must master your craft first.

Perfect your scuba diving skills.

As a Dive Leader, others will look up to you, copy your movements and behavior and follow where you guide them underwater. This means your skills must be perfect.

Not only for yourself but you must be able to teach them to others, as well.

We will help you bring your skills up to perfection and show you how to teach them to others. This goes way beyond the Open Water Diver content and will elevate your skills to the next level.

However, home study and practice on your own are absolutely necessary.

Dive Group Management

While other training programs often focus only on the repetition of skills, our Dive Leader course makes you a great leader underwater!

Learn to lead dives.
  • Conducting dive briefings
  • Manage a dive group
  • Lead divers & dive groups underwater
  • Stress management
  • Lead dives with others in mind

If you choose the internship option, you will get to come with us and lead our clients, customers, and club members on their dives!

Teaching skills & Assisting

One part of your job as a Dive Leader or Divemaster is to assist dive instructors during courses.

Divers Indoor Pool

This includes theory classes, skill sessions, and open water dives.

You will learn exactly how to engage with students, help them on their journey to become certified scuba divers, and assist the instructor when handling bigger groups.

Becoming a Dive Leader

In your evaluation dives, you take responsibility and lead a group of students during an open water diver course.

Dive Leader card

Your dive instructor evaluates your skills during and after the course. Once you passed all the course modules, diving practice, and theory tests, you will become a certified Dive Leader

Congratulations!
